BT Paintball Rip Clip Loader

BT Designs (BT Paintball) released the BT RIP Clip about 9 months ago for use on BT-4 Paintball Markers. The Rip Clip will work on the BT-4 Combat, ERC, Assault, Ironhorse, SWAT, Banshee and Delta. At first glance, the BT Rip Clip resembles something similar to the Tippmann Cyclone Feed System. Many consider the Rip Clip as BT's answer of the ever popular Cyclone Feed System by Tippmann Sports. Both are mounted on the right side of the marker, preload paintballs and use a common hopper with an identical wide mouth. In fact, you can use any Cyclone Feed Replacement Hopper on the BT Rip Clip. We've tried the Proteam Tac Cap, Allen Paintball's Offset loaders and even Tippmann Low Profile Loader and they all fit securely on the Rip Clip Loader. We get this question a lot, so we'll make this clear. You can't use the Rip Clip on a Tippmann A5, X7 or 98 Marker. Likewise you can't add a Cyclone Feed System to a BT-4 Paintball gun.

Assembly onto the BT-4 is very simple. First add the 4 AA batteries. Next loosen the spring screws and slid it all the way down the marker into place. Lastly, add the 200rd hopper onto the Rip Clip's loader system. The loader requires intial activation. Simply press the back of the loader system. The LED will turn green for a long moment when the button is pressed. When released the button will flash green again, then flash green quickly either 1, 2, or 3 times corresponding to the speed at which the loader is set to. The loader will then spin. The Rip Clip is only initiated after the loader spins. The loader will blink on and off indicating that it's ready for firing. To turn off, simply press and hold the button. The LED will turn red and the loader will shut off.

The Rip Clip has 3 Speeds. The first speed being the slowest and the third being the fastest at 20+ bps. To change the speeds, simply press and hold the button during the time in which the green LED stays green during the initial set-up. The LED will turn red and stay red for 15 seconds. During that time, press the button firmly to correspond to the speed you would like, either 1, 2 or 3 times. The red led will flash the speed level at which it is set. The loader will spin to complete the programming. The Rip Clip is ready to fire.

The BT incorporates patented HALO Sound Activation Technology. The sound from firing a shot activates the Rip Clip to reload another ball into the marker. It's similar technology used in Halo's TSA loaders. Let us tell you, it's smooth and efficient. In most cases, battery life will last up to about 8,000 shots and an auto-off feature set at 1 hour.

If you're using the RIP Clip on a non-electric BT-4, the lowest setting will do. Set the Rip Clip to the 3rd setting when matched with the BT Electronic Trigger Frame. You should see 20+ BPS out of your BT-4 with this combo. That's not only serious fire power but reliable too! Testing showed not a single ball break in 2000 shots. In our opinion, this is the 'go-to' loader for any BT-4 owner. Price is set just below most of the high end tournament level loaders at $72.50. Don't forget you also get placement off the centerline of the gun and the ability to use all aftermarket 'cyclone style' loaders including the Pro Team Tac Cap loader. Adding a Tac Cap is great for scenario games when your on-gun rounds are capped or simply when you want a lighter, smaller hopper in the woods.

Tippmann Extends Gun Warranty

Tippmann Sports announced recently that they are extending their standard 1 year warranty on all new markers to 2 years. Tippmann, the leader in paintball markers for 20 years, will hopefully be establishing the norm. Only time will tell if other manufacturers will also increase the consumer's protection by extending the industry standard one year warranty to two.

The new 2 year warranty on Tippmann markers is effective Jan 1, 2008. But if you purchased your marker late in 2007, special exceptions are applied. Anyone who had a Tippmann issue or return knows of the fast and reliable warranty and repair service. Bottomline... they get it in and get it back out asap. Extending to 2 years should not only give you peace of mind, but also tell you that Tippmann stands behind their products.
