TechT Paintball Gun Drops gun lube

Just when you think the boys (and 'girl') at TechT Paintball are getting lazy they breakout with more cutting edge products destined to change paintball forever. Do you guys sleep? The latest release is something we've all been longing for. TechT's success with their Gun Sav lube has led to the development of what may become the top paintball oil in the biz: TechT Paintball Gun Drops.

TechT's 'Gun Drops' is specially formulated to be ultra-slick providing superior lube to your paintball gun's internal parts. TechT's Gun Drops is thicker than most oils on the market. This thickness allows the oil to really coat the parts without creating drag like thick grease that coats and clogs. Another cool feature of the Gun Drops is the eye-dropper like dispenser. It allows you to control the flow and direction of the lube. This reduces waste and spilling. Oh, yeah and reduces GEAR BAG oil disasters. The dropper top locks tight unlike other oil bottles on the market. Thanks TechT... no more paintball gear oil baths!

BTW... TM7 and Mini owners will love the new BT TM7 Spring Kit also fresh from the TechT factory. This 3 piece kit offers springs of varying tension to adjust gun pressure and dwell. Must have tweaking tool for either BT TM-7 or Invert Mini owners.

Checkout all the TechT Paintball products at the the ultra-cool TechT Paintball website.

Top Paintball Items for Christmas 2008

The 2008 Christmas season is upon us. We figured a 'top products' post was in order for those of you looking for a 'can't miss' gift for the paintballer on your list. The following paintball items are some of the hottest releases this year that are sure to be top sellers this holiday season.

Tippmann X7 w/ E-Grip - This gun was released this time last year. It has really caught momentum now and stands to be the top seller and paintball gift. Ultra performance and tons of upgrade options are just two of the reasons people have taken to the X7. Great gift for anyone interested in woodsball or recball with a some experience in the sport. Perfect gift for military personal who can appreciate the look and feel of a replica military paintball gun.

Smart Parts SP1 - Smart Parts introduced the world to the Ion a few years back and people took notice once again of this company. Taking tournament level performance and giving it an entry level price turned out to be a killer combination. The SP1 uses many of the features of the Ion in a tactical shell. This gun is seriously sick and the Smart Parts website has videos of the SP1 to prove it! Perfect gift for any recball or woodsball enthusiast who always looks for a technical edge on the competition. The market should boast a seriously large upgrade market for this gun in '09.

Straightline Barrel Kit - By means of a coop between Tippmann and Hammerhead paintball, the Straightline barrel system was born! Utilizing Hammerhead's patented rifling technology, this barrel is destined to have as much as an impact on the paintball community as the famed Flatline. The Straightline kits includes 3 barrel backs for a better 'paint to barrel' match. The reverse ported muzzle break helps to reduce forward projected sound. The Straightline is 16" in length with A5 (X7) threads only. Great gift for the paintballer looking for the ultimate in barrel technology.

BT Apex Barrel - Face it, the Apex is a mainstay in paintball. And with the emergence of Apex Ready Barrels and Apex Adapters from companies such as Lapco, Smart Parts and J&J Performance, the Apex's foothold is even more secure. It's cool design gives the impression of a suppressor or silencer. The Apex's function is truly revolutionary allowing the user to curve shots at different distances up, down, right or left. The Apex has never been more popular and more customizable. Perfect stocking stuffer for any paintballer looking for a secret edge on the field.

Tippmann HE Selector Switch Egrip - Externally adjustable firing mode selection. That is a nice feature that only X7 Egrip owners could enjoy up until now. The new A5 Selector Switch is available as an upgrade to any A5 out there. It features 5 firing modes with the external adjuster capable of safety, semi-auto and a custom selection that the owner can program. The technology is better on this Egrip as well. Tippmann adopted the Hall Effect magnetic trigger into this A5 upgrade previously seen only on the X7 Egrip. This magnetic trigger reduces the mechanical parts required to activate the sear making the egrip more consistent, efficient and breakdown resistent! Have an A5 owner on your list? This is jaw-dropping present that will take any A5 to new levels.

That's just a few of the exciting products available this season. Find them all at ROCKSTAR Tactical. We have the lowest pricing, best selection, secure ordering and ultra fast processing and shipping! Happy Holidays!

JJ Ceramic Apex Adapters

The JJ Ceramic barrels have been a favorite among woodsballers for many reasons. The JJ Ceramic is a great all-around barrel, performing well with most paints at a price that's almost hard to believe. The ceramic coating and matte black finish is the ultimate woodsball combination providing durability and a stealth appearance.

JJ performance has released a new addition to their line-up. The Ceramic Barrel Apex Adapter is a 2.25" add-on that allows for the addition of a BT Apex Tip to the JJ Ceramic Barrel. It is designed using the same material as the ceramic barrels themselves therefore the fit and finish is a perfect match.

The Apex Adapter simply slides over the end of the barrel and is held in place with 3 set screws. It's important not to over tighten the screws; this could damage the screw threads or the barrel itself. We installed one over a strip or two of electrical tape. This provided a surface for the screws to contact without scratching the barrel. You really don't need to over-tighten. If you're worried about the adapter coming loose in the field use a little mild loctite on the set screws before installing them. Use the mild type so that you can remove them later. This will add to the gripping power of the screws and help them resist shaking loose.

The JJ Apex Adapter is milled perfectly to accept the Apex Tip. Simple remove your o-rings from your original BT Apex Barrel, install them on the adapter and then add your Apex Tip. There are 4 screws that secure the two halves of the Apex Tip. Again, don't over tighten these either Superman... snug will do.

J&J states that the adapter can be used on just about any barrel with a 7/8" outer diameter at its end. At $15 that'll save you a lot of time rigging an Apex Tip to your favorite barrel!

Tippmann X7 Expansion Chamber Kit

The new X-7 Expansion Chambers are in. These all-metal mag kits are machined from aircraft grade aluminum. They really give the X7 an authentic, heavier feel that the factory plastic parts do not. Designed in a 20rd M-16 style, this new X7 mag kit is a working expansion chamber.

So what exactly does an expansion chamber do? CO2 is actually liquid. It has to convert into a gas using thermal energy in order to power the marker. An expansion chamber provides more area for CO2 conversion into gas. The result is less liquid CO2 entering the gun. It allows for more consistent pressure resulting in better accuracy and efficiency. It you're running CO2 on your X7 and are tired of the velocity swings, you need this upgrade!

The kit is very easy to add to your X7. It includes everything you need for a complete install: the mag, fittings and airline. Tippmann's instructions are detailed and dead-on as usual. Install takes about 10-15 minutes. The X7 Expansion Chamber is a homerun! Checkout all the latest X7 Upgrades available today through ROCKSTAR Tactical.

Tippmann A5 HE Selector Switch Egrip Gun

New and exciting updates have recently been added to rockstartactical.com. We received our first shipment of Tippmann A5 H.E. Selector Egrip Paintball Guns. These new A5's have the Selector Switch Egrip factory installed by Tippmann. They allow for firing mode changes using the external switch. True 'on the fly' mode selection makes it easier to choose your firing mode in any combat situation. Switch settings include safety, semi-auto and a custom selection that you can program to any 1 of 5 firing modes. The new Hall Effect Trigger is magnetically activated, a departure from mechanical switches. It'll last longer and perform better. The Tippmann A5 w/ Selector Egrip can fire at a blazing 20 ball per second.

Also this week, we finally received the latest version of the
Hammerhead Shark Tooth 8.5" barrel. Hammerhead makes some of the most accurate paintball barrels on the market today. Patented Hammerhead rifling along with the included .688 back fin makes this the hottest shortie barrel to date. Available in both the A5 (X7) and 98 threads, these barrels are perfect for small, compact marker set-ups. If you need a short barrel that's long on accuracy with good distance, the Hammerhead Sharktooth is the best in class. The latest version has a matte black finish that will not reflect light which is crucial to a stealth presence in the woods. Additional fins (backs) can be purchased to accomodate different size paint.

For more information about these high-end rifled barrels, visit
Hammerhead Paintball.

US Army Alpha Black Paintball Rail and Stock

Last week we made a post about a few new Alpha Black parts to hit the store. More came in this weekend. Trinity released a version of the their MP5 collapsible Stock to fit the Alpha Black marker. This is one the first aftermarket stocks to hit the market for the Alpha Black. The Trinity Alpha Black MP5 Stock is perfect for open field or close quarter battle. With the press of a button, the stock extends or collapses to accomodate your shooting position.

We also got our hands on a new Alpha Black Carry Handle Rail. This rail fits into the groove of the carry handle. Alpha Black owners will need to drill a hole in the base of the carry handle to allow the integrate screw to fit through the handle and be secured by the thumb screw. The rail is 5.5" in length and it provides a mounting base for any paintball scope or accessory with a weaver compatible base.

With the combination of our m-16 hand guard rails and the new carry handle rail, Alpha Black owners now have plenty of rail space to accomodate tactical accessories like paintball scopes, flashlights and lasers.

Tippmann A5 Parts Performance Upgrades

We always get a ton of questions from people looking to upgrade a Tippmann A5. There are a million different cosmetic A5 mods on the market that will allow you to make turn the A5 into just about anything imaginable. Those are really personal preference mods that do not sigificantly influence performance. But what are the most popular, most 'bang for your buck' performance upgrades out there today?

We recently published an article on the website that takes a closer look into a few key areas to upgrade on the Tippmann A5. Although still teetering on the edge of personal preference, making some basic upgrades to the trigger, cyclone feed and barrel are the primary initial areas of focus. Focusing your money on these areas will not only allow you to increase performance but also achieve better efficiency and reliability in the woods. Also checkout the new Sniper Paintball Blog for a similar article posting on Top A5 Parts.

The season is among us and people are heading into the woods with paintball marker in hand! Look for lots of new things to hit the website now through Christmas. New mods, guns and a few other secrets we don't want to let out of the bag just yet! Sign up for our newsletter and bookmark our blog so you don't miss out.

New US Army Alpha Black Parts

The US Army Alpha Black parts are really emerging onto the scene. Recently a few companies have released some parts that will change the performance and feel of your gun. For US Army E-Grip owners, Rhythm Innovation's Alpha Black E-Grip Trigger is all-aluminum alternative that drops into the existing Alpha E-Grip. This will allow you to not only gain a smoother, lighter trigger pull but also be able to adjust your trigger's firing distance.

If you're looking for additional rail space for accessories on your Alpha Black, look no further. We special ordered rail kits that will allow you to add tactical paintball rails to your Alpha Black M-16 Hand Guard. They fit over the holed opening on your guard. These rails are almost 6" long and come in two different versions: a single rail kit and another single rail that includes an RIS style front grip. They will work on most M16 Handguards, not just the Alpha Black. There is no drilling or permenant modification needed. We are always hunting down Alph Black accessories so check back often for more Alpha Black Parts. Visit the
US Army Paintball Website for more information on this ultra-cool woodsball paintball gun.

Tippmann A5 Selector Switch E-Grip

Lots of buzz is in the air and on the web about some new releases due out very soon from Tippmann. Tippmann introduced the new Selector Switch A5 E-Grip Trigger Frame at a recent paintball event. The new Selector Switch grip borrows technology from the current e-trigger found on the Tippmann X7. The external switch allows you to select firing modes on the fly while the magnetic hall-effect trigger replaces the older mechanical trigger for smoother, more reliable firing. Estimated arrival date is around October 20th. We have begun taking pre-orders on the website. The Selector Switch E-Grip will be sold as a trigger upgrade as well as pre-installed on the Tippmann A5 E-Grip Model.

Another cool addition to our growing line of Tippmann X7 Parts is the new Tippmann X7 Expansion chamber. The chamber is machined from aluminum in the shape of a M16 mag kit. It includes everything you need to upgrade your X7. The new expansion should help level out the spikes experienced with CO2 use. This is also due in the week of Oct 20th.

Learn more out these products by visiting our website using the links above or Tippmann Sports. ROCKSTAR Tactical is a top, authorized dealer for all genuine Tippmann guns, parts and accessories.

Lapco Cocker and Tiberius Barrels

New to ROCKSTAR Tactical and relatively new for Lapco are the 8" Big Shot 'Apex Ready' and 8" Big Shot Autococker Barrels. Previously, the only available threads for 8" models were for the Tippmann A5 and Tippman 98. The Apex Ready barrel has a 0.690 bore while the non-Apex Big Shot barrel for the autococker has a bore of 0.687. Both are great sizes designed to work well with most field paint.

Lapco's 8" Big Shot is a favorite among us Tippmann A5 owners. Not only does this barrel perform surprising well, but it also works perfectly with the
Lapco Mock Paintball Suppressor. We use the combo to achieve a submachine gun similar to an MP5.

We were also able to secure a number of
Apex Tips. Now you can mix and match any Apex Ready Barrel with an Apex Tip without having to buy the entire Apex Barrel kit. We currently stock an assortment of Apex Ready barrels from Lapco and Smart Parts. Lapco barrels are offered in most popular barrel threads. Smart Parts are offered in every thread known to paintball. Smart Parts Apex Ready Fronts use the All American or Freak Backs, therefore if you can convert any exiting AA or Freak barrel into an Apex compatible barrel system.

Lapco also released a new barrel for Tiberius T8 or T9 pistol owners. We are really excited about this new
Lapco ST8 Shot T8 Barrel and cannot wait to try it out. The barrel has a matte black finish perfect for the Tiberius pistols. They are 9" in length with a bore of 0.690. The cool feature is the thread-on muzzle break. Not only functional, this muzzle break will single out your T8 pistol among the pack.

CO2 vs. Nitrogen in Paintball

CO2 vs. Nitro - We've had a lot of questions lately regarding the differences between CO2 and Nitrogen when used in paintball. We thought a blog post was in order to cover some of the basic differences, including the good and bad, between the two.

CO2 Tanks - First, CO2 is the most commonly used propellant in paintball. CO2 tanks come in varying sizes and can be filled by just about any store or field the sells paintball equipment. CO2 that fills a tank is in the form of a liquid, therefore the tank's size is deemed as a liquid volume such as a 20 oz. tank. CO2 can be a dirty gas. The liquid form of CO2 in your tank is not what powers the marker. Liquid CO2 must be turned into a gas to pressure the paintball gun. Thermal energy or heat is needed for this conversion. This is the reason for the coldness experienced when shooting a CO2 powered gun. Not only can the marker get cold but internals such as o-rings can freeze. This may jam the gun causing it to shoot erratically. At very high rates of fire, CO2 can cause something called drop-off. This is when shot velocity is inconsistent and balls do not travel as far as the previous shoot. Basically the liquid CO2 is not converting fast enough to supply enough pressure to maintain velocity inside the paintball gun. This is further exaggerated in extremely cold temperatures.

'Compressed Air' aka. 'Nitrogen' Tanks - Sort of a breath of fresh air. Literally! Compressed air tanks are also called Nitro tanks because the air we breathe is composed mostly of Nitrogen. Nitro tanks are considered high pressure air because internal pressures can be as high as 3000 psi in some models and 4500 psi in others. They all use a regulator installed on the tank to bring the internal pressure down to a pressure that is usable by the paintball gun. Most nitro tanks outbound pressure is at about 800 psi. Some lower pressure models can regulate the air pressure down to about 400 psi for guns that operate on a lower pressure. You will not get the coldness or freeze-up like CO2 when using compressed air. Actually, nitro tanks will tend to get a little warm when in use. Also, you will not get 'drop-off' like you do with CO2. If drop-off is occurring in a gun using nitrogen, then the problem may be the filling rate of the regulator attached to the gun (that's another post altogether). Nitrogen is therefore easier on a gun's internals for reasons explained above. Due to the high pressure a compressed air tank holds, the price is considerably higher than CO2. Tanks need to be composed of special materials which cost more money. The other cost is associated with the regulator. Compressed air is the way to go if you are concerned with increasing a paintball gun's performance as long as you can afford it and your local field or store has the equipment to fill the tank for you. Compressed air is a must for those that play in a predominantly cold environment.

How do you calculate shots per fill for a Nitro tank? - Don't be fooled, shots will vary every time you get your tank filled. A good rule of thumb is to take the cubic inch size and times it by either 10 or 15 depending on whether you have a 3000 psi or 4500 psi tank. Therefore to calculate a 68ci/4500psi tank's estimated shot capacity, you would take 68 x 15 =1020 shots per fill.

We just received a shipment of NcStar Paintball Scopes, Lasers and Flashlights. There is now a red dot for every style paintball gun. Versions are available for 7/8" tactical rails and 3/8" dovetails. Red dot's are key in paintball for fast target acquisition and easy shot placement.

Scopes differ in the quality of their shell, light intensity adjustment, reticles and organization of the lenses. Holographic style red dot scopes are your best bet for medium to low light tactical situations as with the
NcStar DDAB and NcStar D4B. Camo models are also available for those needing that extra stealth presentation. Checkout the NcStar D4C and NcStar DDAC models.

Don't forget to checkout the new selection of Tactical Flashlights, Lasers and Combo kits from NcStar. We are an authorized NcStar dealer. If there is an NcStar product that you want that is not listed on

ROCKSTAR has the
Hammerhead Bangstikxx as a 3 fin kit. You get the barrel, 3 fins (0.683, 0.686 and 0.690), screw on muzzle tip, lithium grease and the Hammerhead ball sizer all in a convenient hard plastic storage case. Kits are available for the Tippmann A5, 98 and autococker.

Tippmann Straightline Barrel

Tippmann had their work cut out for them when they decided to create a new barrel system. Their Flatline barrel changed the way people though about conventional paintball barrels. After much research the project was complete and the result is the Tippmann Staightline Barrel System.

The new Tippmann Straightline Barrel kit has been released and should be here in the next day or two. This 16" barrel promises to be the most accurate A5/X7 barrel available today. In cooperation with Hammerhead, Tippmann created a true spiral rifled barrel that includes 3 barrel backs for paint matching and a removable muzzle break for decreased shot turbulence. This all adds up to better performance and better air efficiency. After an initial run at a few test events, Tippmann believes that the Straightline Barrel will be the best A5/X7 barrel to date. And yes... it will work with the X7 and A5 barrel shrouds. It will also work with all X7 Tippmann/Special Ops accessories.

The summer is upon us and we've been hard at work revamping our product offering with even more paintball tactical accessories. Recently we received the new Tiberius Arms paintball sights. BT Paintball Bandolier Packs

We just received our first shipment of BT Paintball Bandolier Packs. BT Paintball has just overhauled their product catalog and the Bandolier harnesses are part of the new offering. They are available as either a 4+1 or 6+1 configuration in both Black and Woodland Digital Camo. The packs are very comfortable and cinche securely to your body with the sewn-in velco belt system. Although the manufacturer does not specify, we would assume the harness would fit between a 30 - 44" waist size.

The center bottle pouch is big enough to carry a large Compressed Air Tank. We tried our 70ci Crossfire and had room to spare. Although shorter, our 70ci tank should be equivalent to the width of most 88ci tanks out there. So carrying anything from a 20oz CO2 tank to an 88ci nitro bottle should not be a problem. Pod pouches hold the 140's nicely, 100rd's no problem. The pod strap is long and has a decent length of velco on it to accomodate different length tubes.

The BT Paintball Bandolier Packs are available now at www.rockstartactical.com. Don't forget to stop by regularly as the rest of the new BT Paintball accessories should be in by summer's end!

BT Apex Barrel - Trick Shot System

The BT Apex Barrel is one barrel system that is revolutionary in design and performance. I don't think anyone predicted the level of popularity it would earn when it was first introduced during a paintball trade show a few years back. Today many options are available for the BT Apex including Apex Replacement Barrels from manufacturers such as Lapco and Smart Parts. Now you are able to add your Apex tip to a complete 'Freak' barrel system giving you the ultimate in barrel to paint matching.

Although the Apex is as popular as ever, rumor has it that BT may be discontinuing production of their AK47 w/Apex Barrel Kits. BT Paintball has completely revamped their product line recently, promising to have new and exciting items available by summer's end. ROCKSTAR Tactical will always carry the standard Apex. We also still have AK and M16 style kits available for the Tippmann A5, Tippmann 98 and Spyder paintball guns. The AK models will only be available for as long as supplies last! Don't miss out if you've been thinking about getting BT Apex Barrel AK Kit for your next build.

Tippmann Platinum Series Flatline Barrel

We've had the Tippmann Platinum Series Flatline Barrels in for a few months now and we'll stock them until the end of time! This barrel is a refreshing change from Tippmann's older 98 version with the extended top receiver cover. We decided to create a post to answer some of the common questions asked regarding Tippmann's New Platinum Series Flatline for the 98 style marker.

Will the Platinum Flatline Barrel fit my 98?
Yes, the barrel was designed to fit any 98 Custom, 98 Custom Pro, 98 Custom Platinum, 98 Custom Pro Platinum. It basically fits any version 98 that uses the most current thick Tippmann 98 thread.

How does the barrel attach?
The barrel attaches like any other barrel. It's only attachment point is by the threads that screw into the marker.

How long is the Platinum Flatline?
It's 12" long.

Does it work the same as the A5 Flatline Barrel?
Yes, it works exactly the same. It has the same curved design, therefore you get the same extended distance and improved accuracy. Tippman says it will increase your range 100ft over stock.

What paint is recommended for use in the Platinum Flatline?
Tippmann suggests using Marballizer Paintballs in all their Flatline barrels.

The buzz in the air regarding many of the new products to come from BT Paintball. Most of the talk is about the new BT Designs TM-7 paintball marker. Built on Mini technology, this gun is promising to take woodsball and scenario paintball to new heights. It's coolness is undeniable. Only a few lucky 'ballers have gotten to try out this marker at the recent 2008 D-Day event where it made it's official debut.

Due for an August release from BT, we're already on the list to get the TM7 paintball gun in stock at a price around $399. So look for

Update: TechT Paintball Squishy Paddles

TechT Paintball released the lastest version of their original soft Squishy Paddles for the Tippmann Cyclone Feed System. The new version has an interlocking section that holds the two paddles together and prevents slippage. Currently they are bright green in color. At ROCKSTAR, we only ship this version. So if you purchase the Paddles or one of our TechT 4-Piece Cyclone Upgrade Kits, you'll get the correct ones. If you plan on buying elsewhere, make sure you check that the dealer is shipping the most current version.

Also take a look at the new TechT Paintball 6 Piece Combo Kit from ROCKSTAR Tactical. This is the ulimate ugrade kit for any Tippmann owner sporting a Cyclone Feed System. You get all the components of our very popular 4 piece kit with the addition of the Zero Kick Hammer and Techt Gun Sav. All at a super value that will save you money over the individual components.

And remember... if it's not TechT, its no better than stock!!

BT Paintball M-8 and M-12 Grenades

New products are always hitting ROCKSTAR Tactical. Lately, we received our first order of BT Series Paintball Grenades. We're very eager to try these babies out. Available in both M-8 (8oz) and M-12 (12oz), they are the first to use the RPS paint fill. RPS makes some of the best non-toxic, high markable paint in the industry. Unlike other grenades that use a watered-down version of regular paintball paint, these grenades have a version of 'Evil' fill making the mark highly visible. Early reports and videos show a very aggressive spin. Like BT says, "why take out one player when you can take out and entire team." Fill is high-vis yellow!

BT Paintball Rip Clip Loader

BT Designs (BT Paintball) released the BT RIP Clip about 9 months ago for use on BT-4 Paintball Markers. The Rip Clip will work on the BT-4 Combat, ERC, Assault, Ironhorse, SWAT, Banshee and Delta. At first glance, the BT Rip Clip resembles something similar to the Tippmann Cyclone Feed System. Many consider the Rip Clip as BT's answer of the ever popular Cyclone Feed System by Tippmann Sports. Both are mounted on the right side of the marker, preload paintballs and use a common hopper with an identical wide mouth. In fact, you can use any Cyclone Feed Replacement Hopper on the BT Rip Clip. We've tried the Proteam Tac Cap, Allen Paintball's Offset loaders and even Tippmann Low Profile Loader and they all fit securely on the Rip Clip Loader. We get this question a lot, so we'll make this clear. You can't use the Rip Clip on a Tippmann A5, X7 or 98 Marker. Likewise you can't add a Cyclone Feed System to a BT-4 Paintball gun.

Assembly onto the BT-4 is very simple. First add the 4 AA batteries. Next loosen the spring screws and slid it all the way down the marker into place. Lastly, add the 200rd hopper onto the Rip Clip's loader system. The loader requires intial activation. Simply press the back of the loader system. The LED will turn green for a long moment when the button is pressed. When released the button will flash green again, then flash green quickly either 1, 2, or 3 times corresponding to the speed at which the loader is set to. The loader will then spin. The Rip Clip is only initiated after the loader spins. The loader will blink on and off indicating that it's ready for firing. To turn off, simply press and hold the button. The LED will turn red and the loader will shut off.

The Rip Clip has 3 Speeds. The first speed being the slowest and the third being the fastest at 20+ bps. To change the speeds, simply press and hold the button during the time in which the green LED stays green during the initial set-up. The LED will turn red and stay red for 15 seconds. During that time, press the button firmly to correspond to the speed you would like, either 1, 2 or 3 times. The red led will flash the speed level at which it is set. The loader will spin to complete the programming. The Rip Clip is ready to fire.

The BT incorporates patented HALO Sound Activation Technology. The sound from firing a shot activates the Rip Clip to reload another ball into the marker. It's similar technology used in Halo's TSA loaders. Let us tell you, it's smooth and efficient. In most cases, battery life will last up to about 8,000 shots and an auto-off feature set at 1 hour.

If you're using the RIP Clip on a non-electric BT-4, the lowest setting will do. Set the Rip Clip to the 3rd setting when matched with the BT Electronic Trigger Frame. You should see 20+ BPS out of your BT-4 with this combo. That's not only serious fire power but reliable too! Testing showed not a single ball break in 2000 shots. In our opinion, this is the 'go-to' loader for any BT-4 owner. Price is set just below most of the high end tournament level loaders at $72.50. Don't forget you also get placement off the centerline of the gun and the ability to use all aftermarket 'cyclone style' loaders including the Pro Team Tac Cap loader. Adding a Tac Cap is great for scenario games when your on-gun rounds are capped or simply when you want a lighter, smaller hopper in the woods.

Tippmann Extends Gun Warranty

Tippmann Sports announced recently that they are extending their standard 1 year warranty on all new markers to 2 years. Tippmann, the leader in paintball markers for 20 years, will hopefully be establishing the norm. Only time will tell if other manufacturers will also increase the consumer's protection by extending the industry standard one year warranty to two.

The new 2 year warranty on Tippmann markers is effective Jan 1, 2008. But if you purchased your marker late in 2007, special exceptions are applied. Anyone who had a Tippmann issue or return knows of the fast and reliable warranty and repair service. Bottomline... they get it in and get it back out asap. Extending to 2 years should not only give you peace of mind, but also tell you that Tippmann stands behind their products.

APE Rampage Boards

Advanced Paintball Electronics (APE) took the paintball scene by storm because of the reliability, programmability and affordability (that's a lot of 'ability') of their Rampage Electronic Boards. APE looked at the current issues players have with some of the other boards on the market and created a board that was easier to program with more features and better battery efficiency. Lets take a look at the very popular APE Rampage A5 Board.

You will need an existing Tippmann A5 egrip to use the APE Rampage A5 Board.. Install is pretty straight-forward. Simply remove the grip assembly from the A5. Open the halves and remove the electronic board. The Rampage A5 Board comes with a Solenoid so you do not have to solder the old one onto your board (if you wanted to later use the old solenoid, you are able to use it on the Rampage Board). Make sure you remove the strip of tape on the solenoid. Reinstall the push rod so that it's in the correct position and make sure all trigger parts are in their proper place.

The only adjusting you will have to do involves the metal leaf that activates the micro switch. It may need slightly bent outward from the middle of the leaf to allow the micro switch to be activated properly depending on certain triggers. Most will work out of the box. After you reassemble, pull the trigger. If you don't feel and hear the micro switch 'click', you need to gently adjust the leaf. Bend outward in small increments using a pair of needle-nosed pliers at the middle of the leaf.

The APE Boards come pre-programmed at the factory using the most optimal settings. For all you 'tweak geeks', this doesn't mean that there aren't endless adjustments to cater to your specific playing style. In the most basic explaination, there are 7 firing modes. You simply press the mode indicator button on the board that peaks through the top hole in the front of the A5 grip. The LED indicator will flash to show what firing mode you are in. Use the APE Chart in your instructional manual to understand the corresponding blink sequence. This is a mode called "Idle". To program you must enter the Idle Mode, press and hold the trigger, then press the mode button again. The LED will flicker for 2 seconds. You are now in programming mode. Programming involves 6 setpoints. APE does a super job explaining the setpoints and their adjustment. Referring to the table in the manual makes it quite easy. It's just a matter of becoming familiar with the programming, then finding the settings that work for your style of play.

We love all the features on this board. As avid A5 owners there are two that really appeal to us: true full-auto firing and instant on/off. Tippmann used to have true full-auto firing with the original E-grip. There were issues with the original board Tippmann produced so they farmed out the programming to Wicked Air Sports. The current Tippmann W.A.S. E-Grip is a solid preformer, don't get us wrong. It's just that the 'true auto-firing' was lost when Tippmann adopted the WAS Board into their guns. By 'true auto-firing' we mean, pull and hold the trigger, full auto is activated. The W.A.S. board requires 3 semi-auto pulls before full-auto is activated. Maybe it's a good thing for speedball, everyone will have their opinions on that one. But for woodsball, true full-auto does have it's advantages (in our opinion that is). Woodsball can be unpredictable, rarely are walk-in individuals that encompass a team organized in terms of strategy and position. Point is, full auto is not just for laying down a ton of paint, it aids in reaction firing. Having to pull the trigger 3 times before activation defeats the purpose, especially when your old like us and your reaction time is slow. The APE Rampage Board is true auto-firing. When set in the Full Automatic mode, one trigger pull activates full-auto. Plain and simple, love that!

There has been some confusion among new users regarding how to turn the Rampage Board on and off. Technically, the board is always in 'standby mode' switching between on and off. As soon as input is made the board is instantly on, when no input occurs the board is automatically off. What this means is max battery life. Boards can really drain batteries. APE has created what is probably the most efficient board out there. Love that too!

APE Boards come with a one year warranty. You can purchase a lifetime warranty directly through APE for $10.

We carry Rampage Boards for the Tippmann A5 E-Grip, Custom Pro E-Grip, Smart Parts Ion and also the BT-4 E-Grip Markers. We are also anxiously awaiting the arrival of the New APE X7 Board!

New Developments from TECHT Paintball

Our friends at Tech T Paintball are at it again. First, we've been selling the newly released Squishy Paddles like WWIII is coming and it's going to be fought with Tippmann A5's! The Squishy Paddles are a nice upgrade to any Tippmann running a cyclone feed system. They're flexible paddles that replace the stiff composite paddles standard from the factory. Great for shuttling thin-shelled paint into the receiver and creating greater surface contact when loading. As Britney Spears would say... "The cyclone blender-blues are a thing of the past, y'all! burp.."

Tech T also updated the L7 bolt. The L7 v2 Bolt is now lighter at 7.4 Grams. They're available to fit most of the current gun models out there. We stock them for most of the Smart Parts guns we offer. There are two versions now. The bolt inside each kit is identical, the guns just use a different bolt stop. The Ion, SP8 and Epiphany use the same bolt stop and the Ion XE, SP1 and Vibe use another style bolt stop. Get the kit that's right for your marker and see the performance gain surface.

Tiberius Arms T8 Refurb Pistols - Super Deal!

We received a limited number of Refurbished T8 Pistols from Tiberius Arms. Let me tell ya, these things look brand new! We've inspected them all and could not find anything that would indicate serious use or tooling. They may have been buy backs from companies that shut their doors. Tiberius could not resell the guns as new. This is pretty common with other refurbished guns that we've received in the past.

If your looking for a T8 and don't want to pull the plug on purchasing a new one due to price, this is the deal for you. You'll save $35 and have the piece of mind not having to buy it used off of Ebay. Did I mention that each gun includes a full warranty from Tiberius? The same warranty as a brand new unit! Includes carrying case, manual, barrel cover and tool kit. One the best deals we've got goin' and better yet, you get free shipping from ROCKSTAR. Red Dot shown on gun is just a sticker and can be cleanly removed.

JCS Factory Seconds Red Hot Power Tubes

The JCS (Blackpoint Engineering) Red Hot Powertube is one of the most popular valve related upgrades for the Tippmann A5 and X7. We have learned that JCS had a boatload of tubes that have a slight cosmetic blemish, but work perfectly fine. JCS could not sell them as new because of the blemish, but wouldn't pitch them either because 'functionally' they are perfect. The powertube will fit either the A5 or X7. Both use the same exact model (JCS number 75155) . We were able to grab a bunch of them at a ridiculous price and offer the savings to our customers.

We currently have the Red Hot Tubes available for $19.95! That includes a brand new front JCS Hexadecagon front bolt. Quantities are limited, take advantage of a super value before they're gone.
